The Penguins will try to win their third straight Monday evening in New York against the Rangers, but they'll have to do it without Kris Letang.
Coach Mike Sullivan said Monday morning that Letang has an upper-body injury and is day-to-day.
Fellow defenseman Olli Maatta is not yet ready to return to the lineup so Zach Trotman will play.
Trotman filled in for Letang while he was out for a time from late February to mid-March.
Sullivan did not specify if Letang is suffering from the same injury that kept him sidelined earlier.
The Penguins will wrap up a four game road trip that has seen them get 5 of 6 points so far.
