PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Sunday that Pirates first baseman Josh Bell will participate in the MLB Home Run Derby.

The Home Run Derby is part of All-Star Week happening at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
Despite heavy efforts, Bell will not be the National League starter at first base in July's All-Star game.
Bell lost the fan vote by 1.1 percent to Atlanta's Freddie Freeman.
The 2019 MLB Home Run Derby will be on Monday, July 8th.
