Pittsburgh (93.7 The Fan) - The Pirates pitching staff--already beset by injuries, illness and suspension--lost two more players Tuesday when relievers Kyle Crick and Clay Holmes were placed on the 10-day injured list.
Crick, who was unable to preseve a ninth-inning lead on Monday, has a lat muscle strain in his right shoulder, according to the Pirates. The club says Holmes has a right forearm strain.
To replace Crick and Holmes, the Pirates added rigthander Geoff Hartlieb and lefthander Miguel Del Pozo from their Altoona satellite camp.
Crick appeared in two games, pitching one inning. He allowed four runs, all unearned. In his lone appearance, Holmes pitched 1.1 scoreless innings.
