PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Milwaukee Brewers hit 4 home runs Wednesday night as they pulled away from the Pirates late and won the opening game of this series 11-5.

The Pirates cut into a 7-2 deficit in the 8th inning as they scored three runs, two of which came around to score on a 2-RBI pinch hit double by Melky Cabrera and Cole Tucker brought home Cabrera with an RBI Single to cut the deficit to 7-5, but Richard Rodriguez could not hold the deficit at two as he gave up another home run to Thames in the 9th and then a bases clearing double by Lorenzo Cain that gave the Brewers the 6-run lead.

For Game 2 of this 4-game weekend series against the Brewers, the Pirates will send Chris Archer (1-5, 5.75 ERA) to the mound against Jhoulys Chacin and the Brewers (3-6, 4.88 ERA) Friday night at PNC Park.
