PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - It was a busy Friday in the Pittsburgh Pirates locker room.
Right-handed pitcher Trevor Williams was placed on a 10-day injured list with a right side strain, and the Pirates announced that right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to take Williams' place on the 25-man active roster.

— Pirates (@Pirates) May 17, 2019Richard Rodríguez has been optioned to AAA. Rodriguez has had trouble finding success out of the Pirates bullpen this year. He's 0-3 with a 5.49 ERA through 19.2 innings pitched. He has also allowed eight homeruns.
The Pirates also announced they will contract 25-year-old, right-handed pitcher Geoff Hartlieb from Indianapolis and catcher Jacob Stallings has cleared outright waivers and been assigned outright to Indianapolis.
