Pitt Announces 2020 Pitt Athletics Hall Of Fame Class

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) University of Pittsburgh Director of Athletics Heather Lyke unveiled the 13 newest members of of the Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame.

The class of 2020 in alphabetical order are:

  • Jennifer Bruce (Women’s Basketball)
  • Donna DeMarino Sanft (Gymnastics Student-Athlete and Coach)
  • Chantee Earl (Women’s Track and Field)
  • Craig “Ironhead” Heyward (Football; Posthumous)
  • Brandin Knight (Men’s Basketball)
  • Ann Marie Lucanie (Volleyball)
  • Ken Macha (Baseball)
  • Curtis Martin (Football)
  • Bob Peck (Football; Posthumous)
  • Pat Santoro (Wrestling)
  • Jackie Sherrill (Football Coach)
  • Arnie Sowell (Men’s Track and Field)
  • Glenn Scobey “Pop” Warner (Football Coach; Posthumous)

Lyke announced the new members during a “Panther’s at Home” virtual gathering on Facebook Live.

Nominations for the Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame were solicited from the public, and nominees must be five years removed from playing collegiate athletics as well as not playing professionally.

The 2020 class will receive their induction into the Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner on Oct. 16 at Heinz Field.

On Oct. 17 the class will be honored when the Panthers take on Notre Dame at Heinz Field.
