PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) – An immediate challenge for Pitt basketball this year as the Panthers open in ACC play, hosting Florida State for the season opener, Wednesday, November 6.

It’s the first time in program history Pitt will open the season with a conference game.  And against a team that’s been to the NCAA Tournament three straight years, including two straight in the Sweet Sixteen and won 29 games last year.

Following Florida State is Nicholls State at the Petersen Events Center on November 9, the game to open Robert Morris’ new arena on November 12 and then West Virginia in Oakland on November 15.

Brandin Knight returns to where his jersey hangs in the rafters on December 3 as Rutgers plays at the Pete in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge.

Pitt rounds out non-conference home play against Northern Illinois, Binghamton and Canisus.

Pitt football also begins the season with an ACC game. Virginia comes to Heinz Field August 31.
