Multiple reports say linebacker Votaze Burfict has been released by the Bengals.
In 7 seasons in the NFL the 28-year-old Burfict has recorded 610 total tackles and five interceptions in 75 games.
During his time with the Bengals, Burfict has been fined six times for a total of almost $350,000 (that includes a $112,000 fine for multiple dirty hits against the Steelers this past season) and has been suspected 3 separate times for a total of 10 games.
Perhaps the most infamous illegal hit from Burfict came during a playoff game against the Steelers in 2016 when he concussed Antonio Brown. Burfict was flagged and helped put the Steelers in field goal range to win.
In 2017, Burfict was awarded by Cincinnati with a three-year deal worth almost $39 million.
Burfict has suffered at least seven concussions during his career putting his future playing career in jeopardy.
Burfict played only seven games for the Bengals in 2018.
