(93.7 The Fan) Steeler’s linebacker Ryan Shazier is on ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 29 wish list.
A video of Shazier dancing at his wedding earlier this year caught the eyes of many and the groundwork was laid out for ABC to keep an eye out.
ABC’s Rob Mills says Shazier’s story is what ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is all about.
Shazier suffered a spinal contusion in a Monday Night Football game in 2017 and has not returned to playing since.
Mills said that Shazier is someone who has overcome something, and said he would be great to dance and overcome the injury.
For the past two seasons, Shazier has been on the Steeler’s roster as “physically unable to perform.”
Shazier’s recovery has been well documented, and it is always a big deal when the 27-year-old shows he’s getting healthier and stronger.
He also would not be the first Steeler to dance on the show.
Wide receivers Antonio Brown and Hines Ward (who won) also graced the ballroom stage.
