PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is heading out west with the rest of his teammates in an encouraging sign that his return to the ice could be imminent.
The Penguins posted the photo of Crosby boarding the plane to Las Vegas Monday afternoon.

Crosby practiced with the team on Friday, starting off in a non-contact jersey but changed into the full contact before the end of practice.
Crosby said last week he wanted to make the trip out west.
While it is unclear when exactly he will return it seems unlikely he will return for the game against the Golden Knights.
Crosby said on Friday that he needs to be cleared and take some contact before he returns but the Penguins won't practice again until Wednesday.
The Penguins continue their road trip on Friday in Colorado and Sunday against Phil Kessel and the Coyotes.
Crosby has been out since mid-November after having surgery to repair a sports hernia.
