Do The Olympics Matter in a 24/7 Sports World?

Paul talks here about the Olympics being cancelled. He debates if they should be cancelled all together because fans don't care about a lot of the sports in the games. He mentions that in his opinion, the Olympics haven't been as important to him since the early 1990's, and that they've changed for many reasons. He feels that it's because of today's endless amount of sports on television, the use of professional athletes, and a change in fan interest have all hurt the Olympics. Paul mainly feels that the Olympics haven't been the same since the advent of modern sports television because the sports fan already has games on every night and that has naturally taken interest away from the Olympics.
