The cynics were right yet again. The local publications are calling out the Pirates, as are we. They did it again. ‘Collapsing is what they do best’ was a line from a Post-Gazette column from Noah Hiles today. Should we be upset by how they approached the trade deadline?
PG columnist Noah Hiles joined the show. Noah has no idea what will happen at the end of this season if the Pirates yet again finish in last place. Noah suggested changes should be coming if we listen to what the front office said going into 2026. Noah thinks drafting and development has been a little bit better in the last few years, but it shouldn’t be enough to save Ben Cherington his job. How much of the blame with pitching goes on Bill Murphy versus the players themselves? How much blame does Paul Skenes deserve for how this season has gone? Noah told us that Bob Nutting thinks ‘incredibly highly’ of Don Kelly, but didn’t have a real reason why.
