Viral sports content creator Frank Michael Smith joined the show. Frank clarified that the guaranteed money is the entire hold-up between the Steelers and Joey Porter Jr. He told us that the team didn’t want to go over $33M guaranteed on the deal while other corners are seeing double or triple that amount guaranteed in their deals. Frank doesn’t understand why the team waited so long to make a contract offer then had the hard deadline of Week 1. Frank thinks it’s about 50/50 on him playing for the Steelers again. He’s worried for Joey’s sake because not many guys that have sat out games and have benefited on the other end. Frank said the back injury is definitely fraudulent and wonders when the team will try to take game checks away. Frank said Porter is definitely pissed and not sure how this gets reconciled.
