It’s crunch time in fantasy football leagues across the country, as most leagues begin its playoffs within the next few weeks before the NFL regular season wraps up. It’s no different for the Audacy Pittsburgh Fantasy Football League, as two weeks remain before the postseason begins in Week 15.
The playoff field looks like it’s rounding into shape, but the seedings are most certainly not. Let’s check out the Week 12 action and where everything stands…
HIGHLIGHTS
Postseason Clinched: Two teams earned that honor with wins in Week 12. The Fan Morning Squad notched its 7th consecutive win with a 119.82-98.60 victory over Suba’s Sackers, who were in 3rd place heading in. They did it without Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins and Travis Kelce who were all out on bye weeks. While they may get all three to return in Week 13, they likely won’t have Deebo Samuel for at least one week. Deebo has been a major factor in keeping that winning streak alive.
As it stands now, The Fan Morning Squad is alone in 1st place in the standings at 10-2 and would be the #1 seed in the playoffs.
The other team to clinch a playoff spot with a 116.16-82.38 win over the Sunday Grinders was Kosher Nostra (ad executives Jeff Martin, Jen Halle, Anthony Fontana). They bounced back in a big way after losing last week, with Josh Allen (28.70 points) and Packers running back AJ Dillon (17.50 points) leading the way. The bad news is they will lose Dalvin Cook to injury and Dillon might take a backseat to Aaron Jones when/if he returns this week or next.
But with a 9-3 record, Kosher Nostra is in the postseason and currently holds the #2 spot, which would mean a first round bye into the quarterfinal round against the winner of the 3 seed vs. 6 seed game.
CBDD Tops PM Team: CBDD (Cale Berger, Dorin Dickerson) beat The PM Team…Team head-to-head in Week 12 and jumped them in the standings in the process. Their running backs Austin Ekeler and Miles Gaskin each scored 18 points while their kicker Daniel Carlson racked up an incredible 21 points in the 112.08-93.42 win.
Both teams are now 7-5 on the season, but it’s CBDD with the higher points scored total on the season so they move to the 5 seed while The PM Team…Team hangs on the edge of the playoffs as the 6 seed.
Peaking at the Right Time: As Mike Tomlin would say, it was put up and shut up time for Bishop Sycamore (Joe Starkey, Joe “Horse” Kapp, Andrew Brncic) a few weeks ago when they were 4-5 and on the brink of having their season fall to pieces.
They’ve ripped off 3 straight victories since, including a 130.22-109.90 win against Zeise Is King this week thanks in large part to Leonard Fournette’s 40.60 point, 4 touchdown day.
They’re now in 4th place and one of 4 teams tied at 7-5 on the season.
So, with two spots already clinched there are still four playoff slots that remain. Barring a two-game collapse by any of these teams, it will be the 7-5 squads of Suba’s Sackers, Bishop Sycamore, CBDD and The PM Team…Team scrapping for the best seed they can get.
