Draymond Green is not one to sugarcoat things.
After the Golden State Warriors' 120-92 loss to the OKC Thunder, Green was honest and blunt.
"The reality is we f---ing suck right now," he said. "Hopefully we'll get better. We'll continue working at it and try to get better but we're just not that good right now. I don't know a better way to frame that for you."
The power forward finished with 10 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
Green was an instrumental piece throughout the Warriors five-year NBA Finals run and winning three titles in five seasons. A lot of that was because of his defense. The 2017 NBA DPOY has said multiple times that the Warriors have got to get better on the defensive end. In their regular season-opener against the Clippers, they allowed LA to shoot 62% from the field and 56% from downtown.
On Sunday, the Thunder shot 55% from the field and 46% from three.
Luckily, it's early in the season so the Dubs have plenty of time to work on things but so far through two games, it's apparent they are struggling to find their identity.
