Double-A Altoona is where hopefully the Pirates stars of the future are. Currently, No. 1 overall draft pick Henry Davis is hitting the cover off the ball and while he is the hot attraction for the Curve, they continue to try all different kinds of way to get fans into seats.
The Curve are having a very specific and ridiculously-amazing tribute on Tuesday night for their game against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
It’s “Salute to Famous Birds Night” at People Natural Gas Field with the Curve saying on its website, “Do you know who doesn't get enough attention? Famous birds. We will rectify that as we salute some of the most famous birds of all time.”
Big Bird, the Road Runner, Zazu from The Lion King and other birds will be celebrated throughout the game.
Seeing the jumbotron promoting the celebration, Curve pitcher Brad Case tweeted “Minor league baseball isn’t real life.”
That prompted the Curve to respond.
