With the Cleveland Cavaliers in such close proximity, do they become Pittsburgh’s default team?

The PM Team on 93.7 the Fan debated if the Cavaliers are considered Pittsburgh’s NBA team or if people just root for certain players.

It has to be hard for basketball fans in Pittsburgh to pick a favorite NBA team, since the two closest franchises are in cities that are commonly rivals of Western PA.

In a Twitter poll put up by Chris Mueller, he asked if the Cavaliers are Pittsburgh’s fourth-favorite professional sports team, and ‘no’ was the runaway victor.

Steelers’ veteran, and Pittsburgh native, Cam Heyward did jump in on the conversation with a clip of him taking in a Cavaliers game.

All of this discussion was had, meanwhile everyone forgot about Pittsburgh’s true fourth team: The Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

Sure, there can be debate over how ‘professional’ the team is by playing in the USL, but the players are considered professional athletes.
