CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- Bears receiver Javon Wims was ejected for punching Saints cornerback C.J. Gardner-Johnson twice in the third quarter of their game Sunday, prompting a skirmish between players on the field.
The ugly scene unfolded after a play to the opposite side of the field from Wims, who had lined up wide to the right. Wims approached Gardner-Johnson and delivered multiple punches before the Saints swarmed Wims. It wasn't immediately clear what upset Wims. Gardner-Johnson took the punches without retaliating himself.
Wims was ejected from the game and escorted to the Bears' locker room. Chicago was also assessed a 15-yard penalty.
Wims could be facing a likely suspension for his actions.
