HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Even before the Titans' COVID-19 outbreak led to the postponement of their matchup against the Steelers in Week 4, the Texans had their own scare with the virus.
Around midnight, just hours before playing against the Steelers, the Texans were notified that two members of the organization had tested positive.
That led to aggressive contact tracing to find out how many people they had been around, and Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said several players were awakened for testing at 5 a.m.
Then they learned the two tests were false positives.
"I think this is a situation that's unprecedented," O'Brien said, stressing that he wasn't making excuses for the loss in Pittsburgh, or the Texans' 0-3 start.
At least four players for the Titans have tested positive for the coronavirus this week. Their most recent opponent, the Vikings, are scheduled to visit NRG Stadium on Sunday in the Texans' first game hosting fans since the pandemic.
No Vikings have tested positive for the virus.
The Steelers-Titans game is being postponed and could be played either Monday or Tuesday, according to Dianna Russini of ESPN.
On Wednesday, O'Brien said the NFL has told the Texans to expect to play.
"These are the things every organization, not just us, are dealing with on a daily basis," he said.
