Chiefs/Eagles not Super Bowl matchup America wanted

The Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl for a third straight year, going for the three-peat as they took down the Bills in Sunday’s AFC title game.

On the other end, the Eagles steamrolled the upstart Commanders to reach the Big Game for the second time in three years, setting up a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, where Kansas City edged Philadelphia in a thriller.

There was a chance for rookie Jayden Daniels to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, or Josh Allen to finally conquer Mahomes and the Chiefs and get the Bills into the Big Game, but instead, it will be two familiar teams that Boomer and Gio believe left all other NFL fans disappointed.

“Unfortunately, I didn't get the matchup I wanted in the Super Bowl because I didn't want this matchup,” Gio said. “But I figured it was gonna happen.”

Boomer believes most fans outside of the Philadelphia and Kansas City areas feel the same as Gio, although they should respect what the Chiefs have been able to do.

“I don't think America wants this matchup,” Boomer said. “But I think it's unbelievable what Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have done together. They are right on the heels and on the cusp of all the greatness that Bill Belichick and Tom Brady have put out there.

“They still got a little bit of ways to go, but if they get a three-peat, that's something that Belichick and Brady didn't have, of course, that's their huge calling card for this particular Super Bowl.”
