Ballpark food has gotten out of hand. From fried grasshoppers at Mariners games to 18-inch, fully-loaded hot dogs that look like something out of Epic Meal Time, we're living in the golden age of stadium concessions with excess and empty calories galore as novelty items become the new currency in MLB, fueling an unlikely arms race to see which team can build the wackiest menu.
The Braves face plenty of competition on that front, though their new World Champions Burger might take the cake as the most decadent offering in MLB, piled high with Wagyu beef, cage-free pan-fried eggs, grilled cold-water lobster tail, garden-fresh Bibb lettuce, heirloom tomatoes and truffle aioli, all contained within a toasted, Irish-buttered brioche bun.
It sounds both delicious and deeply unhealthy (no word yet on the calorie count, though no nutritionist in their right mind would ever recommend it) and it can be yours for the price of a Hyundai Sonata! That's because the Braves' new culinary creation comes with an authentic 2021 World Series ring, while supplies last.
Of course, if $25,000 is too rich for your blood, you can always pivot to the more reasonably priced replica ring and burger for a cool $151. That oddly specific amount is meant to represent the Braves' 151 years of continuous operation, beginning as charter members of the National Association of Professional Baseball Players (NAPBBP) in 1871.
While casual fans aren't likely to drop five figures on a burger ("But honey, it comes with Parmesan waffle fries!"), going viral with an absurdly outlandish menu offering is good publicity for the Braves ahead of their season opener Thursday night at Truist Park.
