Things got heated between The Fan's Chris Mueller and former Steelers linebacker and coach Joey Porter during Jerome Bettis' golf outing on Monday afternoon.
Mueller said that Porter came over to Mueller as the PM Team was winding down with him repeating "I wanted to meet the reason for the treason."
Porter, who was arrested back in 2017 on the South Side charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and other charges.
That arrest story was broke by another Pittsburgh sports journalist who also happens to be named Chris Mueller was well.
Fast forward to last week when the other Chris Mueller saw JuJu Smith-Schuster at a South Side Giant Eagle paying for another customer's groceries.
Several people in local media claimed that the Smith-Schuster story was a stunt to make him look good.
Our Mueller responded saying:
According to Mueller, even though Porter doesn't do much social media, word got to him about his comments, upset with both Chris Muellers.
Andrew Fillipponi says that Porter was so mad he was cursing and producer Kraig Riley had to use the "dump" button twice.
Porter, continuing to cuss Mueller out while signing autographs, didn't think Mueller needed to use his name.
Mueller, saying he doesn't have a death wish, walked up to Porter and apologized for mentioning him in the tweet.
Mueller put out his hand and Porter said something to the effect of "we're good then."
Poni says that he is proud of Mueller and put out a fire he wasn't sure Mueller would be able to put out.
Mueller adds that he is genuinely sorry and while he doesn't believe he did anything wrong, didn't need to mention the Porter incident.
Poni adds they would like to have Porter on air sometime, but Mueller believes the issues has been resolved.
