UPDATE (8:30 CT) - Dez Bryant now confirms that he let the emotions get the best of him and he'll return to the Ravens this season once he's been cleared by the team's medical personnel.
DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - In a shocking turn of events, Ravens receiver Dez Bryant wasn't able to face his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, on Tuesday night.
Less than 30 minutes before kickoff, Bryant tweeted that he was pulled from warmups after he tested positive for COVID-19.
According to multiple reports, Bryant's test from this morning came back inconclusive prior to the game, which prompted the NFL to remove him from the field to re-test him. Bryant then received a rapid test where it was determined at the tested positive for the virus.
The Ravens immediately scratched Bryant from the lineup with an illness designation and sent the receiver home.
Bryant later followed up his original tweet by saying he is done for the rest of the season because of the magnitude of the situation.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume Bryant won't actually skip out on the rest of the season after all he's been through to get back into the league. But I certainly understand that this had to be a very emotional moment for him to be told he can't play against his former team.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, all other Ravens players tested negative for COVID-19 and "no high-risk close contacts were identified."
Pictures circulating on social media appeared to show Bryant come into contact with some members of the Cowboys organization prior to the game.
