Looking at Eagles fans Twitter on Thursday night, was like looking into a mirror for Steelers fans.
They remember the frustration of watching quarterback Kenny Pickett getting sacked, missing open receivers and throwing short passes.
It was essentially the Spider-Man-pointing meme, seeing Philly fans complaining about the same things Pittsburgh fans did last season.
The Steelers former first-round draft pick played the first half and went 11-for-13 against the New England Patriots with only 67 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.
He averaged 5.2 yards-per-attempt and was sacked four times, including once on 4th down.
After the game, Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni reiterated that Pickett is their #2 QB behind Jalen Hurts.
Many Eagles fans took to social media to say they believe Tanner McKee should be bumped up on the depth chart, in front of Pickett.
McKee went 15-for-19 with 140 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.
Speaking on The Fan Morning Show Friday, Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson wondered if Matt Canada and Mike Tomlin’s micromanaging of Pickett has damaged him long-term.
Is he conditioned now to check the ball down and avoid any risk? In Pittsburgh, it was all about protecting the ball and letting the defense make plays.
Fan sister station WIP posted a poll question on Friday morning asking which player is better, Kenny Pickett or Tanner McKee.
As of 11:30 a.m., McKee is winning 80.1 percent to 19.9.
While things didn’t go they way anyone wanted it to with the Steelers, he is the main reason Pitt won an ACC Championship.
Hopefully better days are ahead for Pickett on the football field, but right now…wouldn’t call it great.
