ESPN's first NFL play-by-play man, Mike Patrick, has died

Mike Patrick did radio in Somerset, PA

ESPN's first play-by-play announcer for its NFL coverage has died at the age of 80.

Mike Patrick joined ESPN in 1982 and was with the network for 35 years.

Patrick called countless college football and basketball games, but is best known for his role on ESPN's "Sunday Night Football".

Early in his career, Patrick worked in radio in Somerset, PA and grew up in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
