A huge high school football match up scheduled for Friday night has been canceled a little over seven hours before kickoff due to COVID-19.
The game between top ranked Pine Richland and 2nd ranked Gateway after a Gateway player tested positive for coronavirus.
Tribune Review reporter Chris Harlen reports the game will not be made up because it is a nonconference game.
It is the second WPIAL football game to be canceled this week.
Canon Mcillan Vs. Baldwin-Whitehall was postponed after members of Baldwin's coaching staff tested positive for COVID-19.
Baldwin did not play last week against North Allegheny either and missed the opener against Mt. Lebanon due to a case of COVID-19.
Football, along with the girls' soccer program are in quarantine until late next week.
