A GoFundMe has been started to help support the family of Duquesne Dukes' PA announcer Dominic Errico as he battles COVID-19.
It was January 25, the same day as his son's 10th birthday, when Errico was taken to Passavant Hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
His condition continued to get worse and was life flighted to Presbyterian Hospital where he remains "sedated and relying on machines to keep his organ running and allow his body to heal," the GoFundMe page explains.
Errico's wife Libbie then received a phone call that doctors have done everything they can for Dominic and that "his life is in God's hands now."
Dominic is the sole breadwinner for the Errico family and with two young children and just losing her mother to Alzheimer's disease on Christmas Eve, Libbie needs all of the help she can get.
Dave Saba with Duquesne Athletics tells The Fan that Errico has been with them since 2014.
In addition to working Dukes' games, Errico was also the announcer for the Pittsburgh Power arena football team, The Steel City Yellow Jackets ABA team and more.
