Golfer banned from Oakmont C.C. after damaging locker room during U.S. Open

Oakmont Country Club has banned the pro golfer who damaged some lockers after a frustrating round at the US Open.

Wyndham Clark, who won the 2023 US Open in Los Angeles, won't be allowed at Oakmont until he pays to fix the damage and gets counseling or completes an anger management program.

That's the message to club members in a letter from Oakmont president John Lynch this week.

Also required for reinstatement is a contribution to a charity of Oakmont's choosing.

Clark was asked about the incident the week after the US Open.

“I made a mistake that I deeply regret and I’m very sorry for what happened," said Clark.

According to Oakmont, Clark has offered to pay for locker repairs.

Joe Starkey sad during Wednesday’s Pomp & Joe Show he thinks the punishment fits the crime.

“He needs to do something because you’re talk about one of the clubs that are the most historic in the country,” said producer Austin Bechtold.
