According to a report, defensive lineman Tyson Alualu’s and defensive tackle Cam Heyward's injuries may not be as severe as previously feared.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Alualu has a sprained MCL and that they are waiting for and MRI to confirm.

If it is sprained, Alualu will most likely miss some time, but it wouldn’t be a long-term absence.

Typically, it takes a player 2-4 weeks to heal from that type of injury.

Another question mark for the Steelers defense though is Heyward who also injured his knee in the final plays of Sunday’s 28-24 win in Baltimore.

Heyward was helped off the field and coach Mike Tomlin said he won’t have an official update on Cam until his Tuesday press conference.

But NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says that Heyward has “minor quad injury . . . nothing serious.”
