PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Prior to the Saturday afternoon game against the New Jersey Devils, the Pittsburgh Penguins activated forward Jared McCann from injured reserve.
McCann is expected to return and center the second line in place of an injured Evgeni Malkin who is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
This will be McCann's first game since March 7, he had missed the last six games with an upper-body injury.
In 17 games this season, McCann has recorded five goals and five assists for 10 points.
The Penguins also announced that Casey DeSmith will be the starting goaltender Saturday afternoon.
The Penguins enter Saturday on a two-game losing streak that they will look to break going into a home-and-home set against the Devils.
