PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Tristan Jarry gave up four goals before being pulled after one period on Tuesday in his first game back. Jarry will get the start again tonight at the Rangers at 7p.
Forward Teddy Blueger remains out, even though he's skated full for about a week. "He continues to progress with the activity on the ice, but has not been cleared," said Pens head coach Mike Sullivan.
Defenseman John Marino left late in the game on Tuesday but went through an optional morning skate and is 'available' to play tonight. Sullivan will not give out lineup decisions until 20 minutes before the game.
New injury
Forward Anthony Angello told the medical staff he was dealing with an upper-body after the game on Saturday. Angello did not practice with the team on Monday as he was moved to the taxi squad. Now Angello sent back to Pittsburgh to tend to his injury. No word on his status and when he might be able to return.
Fixing defensive issues
Giving up 15 goals in the last two games, Sullivan talked to the team, mostly off-ice the last day and a half about what they need to do to correct their defensive lapses.
"I think it's a number of things," Sullivan said. "It starts with a mindset and an attention to detail and then a discipline to pay attention to the details shift in and shift out. We've had those discussions with our players. We've identified certain details associated with our game where we know we can improve and get better. That should give us better results."
