According to Post-Gazette high school sports reporter Mike White, former Pine-Richland football coach Eric Kasperowicz could be back in the WPIAL in 2022.

Mars Area School District’s board meeting has on their agenda for Tuesday, hiring a new varsity coach.
While the name on the agenda is listed at “TBD” White says that the Post-Gazette has information that says that name is Kasperowicz.
Mars’ former coach is Scott Hienauer, who is also the school’s current athletic director. His head coaching job was opened up earlier this year, and while he was able to reapply for the job, he decided not to.
Kasperowicz was fired as Pine-Richland’s coach a year ago after eight seasons with the Rams. He won four WPIAL titles, two PIAA championship and went 85-18 over those seasons.
After Kasperowicz was fired, there was strong backlash in the Pine-Richland community in hopes that Kasperowicz would be reinstated.
Administrators at Pine-Richland claimed he was let go due to claims of bullying within the program.
Kasperowicz denied the allegations and filed a lawsuit against the district last May, but later dropped the suit after their head coaching position once again opened up.
First year head coach Steve Campos, who was able to get the Rams in the playoffs resigned in January.
Kasperowicz tried to get the job back but was never interviewed and Penn Hills coach Jon LeDonne was hired as the Rams new coach.
Kasperowicz spent the 2021 season as a volunteer assistant with the Pitt football program, a team that won the ACC Championship.
