Add another name to the list of potential Pelicans coaches, and this one has a ring to it: Master P.

Yes, the New Orleans rapper and producer has said he's interested in being the next Pelicans coach after the firing of Stan Van Gundy, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

"We'll win and Zion [Williamson] will be happy," said Master P, whose given name is Percy Robert Miller. "Everything! I feel like it's motivating the players and understanding them, that's the most important thing."

While probably outside the realm of possibility for the Pelicans, P does have an NBA background to pull from. He signed a pair of NBA contracts with the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors in 1989 and 1990. He never played in a regular season game for either team, but logged 14 total points in preseason action.

The most recent indications for a future Pelicans coach have targeted Brooklyn Nets assistant Jacque Vaughn and Milwaukee Bucks assistant Charles Lee, both of whom the Pelicans have been given permission to interview.
