Christmas Day was the NBA’s big holiday, but the NFL has come in and completely demolished basketball.
So much for all of those “I’m not watching the NFL anymore” people.
According to Neilsen, over 48 million people watched the Steelers/Chiefs and Ravens/Texans on Netflix Wednesday.
24.3 million people watched the Ravens game, 24.1 million tuned into watch the Chiefs dominate the Steelers.
Meanwhile, the NBA had its highest rating on Christmas in five years but it was peanuts compared to the NFL.
The highest-rated game of the day (Lakers vs. Warriors) averaged 7.76 million.
More proof the NFL is in a league of its own when it comes to sports domination.
And after Mike Tyson/Jake Paul boxing event with several glitches, Netflix’s first foray into the NFL was an overwhelming success.
The broadcast went smoothly and was professionally executed with only a few minor issues, which we won’t get into.
It’s another sign that the future of the NFL is streaming. Too many people are watching and too much money is there to be made.
