PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The Pittsburgh Penguins own Bryan Rust was named the NHL's third star of the week.
In only two games this past week, Rust put up three goals and two assists for five points.
Rust's three goals were tied for most in the league for the week, while his five points were tied for third most.
The Penguins walked away with wins in both of their games this week and Rust played a huge factor in both games.
A goal and an assist in the Feb. 11 game against the New York Islanders; two goals and an assist on the game winning goal on Feb. 14 against the Washington Capitals.
Rust is tied for the team-lead in goals with five and leads the team in assists (8) and points (13).
The NHL named former Penguins' goalie Marc-Andre Fleury as the second star of the week and Columbus Blue Jackets' forward Cam Atkinson as the first star.
