PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed two players on waivers; forward Colton Sceviour and defenseman Juuso Riikola.
This was first reported by SporsNet's Chris Johnston who gives daily updates regarding the NHL's waiver wire.
In 31 games this season, Colton Sceviour has scored three goals and three assists for six points and has a 0 +/- rating.
This is his second time this season being sent through the waiver wire in an attempt to place him on the taxi squad.
Riikola is in a different boat this year, however, as the defenseman has only played two games all season recording no points.
Just this past offseason Riikola signed a 2-year contract worth $1.15 million per year, but has since been a healthy scratch for a vast majority of the season.
If both players clear they will join the Penguins taxi squad.
