PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) — The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled forward Josh Currie on Thursday.
Currie had been on the taxi squad, but he was upgraded after forward Jason Zucker was retroactively added to injured reserve.
For what it's worth, Zucker's placement on IR was backdated to Feb. 23.
In a corresponding move, forward Anthony Angello was readded to the taxi squad.
Currie has participated in 21 NHL games in his career, all of them with the Edmonton Oilers during the 2018-2019 campaign.
During that time, Currie posted two goals and three assists for five points.
Currie was initially signed into the Penguins organization last October when he joined the AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
