The PIAA is appealing in Aliquippa High School's legal fight to keep its football team in class 4A.
The Aliquippa football team appeared to be able to ready itself to compete where it's been for the last two seasons, 4A.
Not so fast.
The PIAA has filed an appeal to overturn the May 23 decision by a Beaver County Judge in common pleas court who granted a preliminary injunction that would allow the Quips to play a 4A schedule this season.
Now, the PIAA's appeal will go to Commonwealth Court.
It isn't known if the appeal will be heard but the PIAA hopes so because they want Aliquippa play a 5A schedule based on their competitive balance rule.
