He’s been projected by many mock drafts to go in the first round of the NFL Draft this April.

But could the size of his hands cause him to slide down the draft board, even into the second round?

In Andrew Fillipponi’s opinion, Pickett is the “safest” quarterback pick in the 2022 draft.

Many experts have Pickett as the best option for a team looking for a quarterback in the draft, with Ole Miss’s Matt Corral and North Carolina’s Sam Howell also near the top of the list.

Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young isn’t eligible for the draft until next year.

But Pickett allegedly has small hands. He was asked about it earlier this week at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

"I think that's like the No. 1 thing for quarterbacks in the draft process every year is hand size," Pickett said jokingly.
"The good news is that I play in Pittsburgh. Anyone that's been to Pittsburgh knows it's not the nicest place to play in October, November.”

Pitt Head Coach Pat Narduzzi told The Fan Morning Show on Thursday that he’s never been asked about Pickett’s hands before and his inside people tell him, “It’s really not the coaches or scouts or the NFL, it’s really the media more than anything.”

Narduzzi adds that going to the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine puts increased scrutiny on every little thing a player can or can’t do.

“That’s all they’re going to do is analyze you . . . and try and tear you apart, but there’s not tearing that guy [Pickett] apart, he’s spectacular,” said Narduzzi.

Pickett reportedly dropped a snap during practice on Wednesday and Pro Football Focus' Steve Palazzolo says that his hands are a concern for some teams.
