Pitt Basketball's Ithiel Horton arrested on the South Side Friday night

PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Just after 1:00 a.m. on Friday night, Pittsburgh Police were notified of an altercation on the 1700 block of East Carson Street.

Responding officers spoke with a male suspect who became angry with a two truck driver who towed his vehicle.

The truck driver is who called the police.

The suspect then punched a responding officer before running and later being arrested.

The suspect was identified as Ithiel Horton, a New Jersey native on the University of Pittsburgh Men’s basketball team.

Horton is being charged with Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Public Drunkenness and is being held in Allegheny County Jail.

Also arrested during the incident was 19-year-old Michelle Pilyugin of New York.

Pilyugin is being charged with False Identification to Law Enforcement, Disorderly Conduct, two counts of Carrying False Identification, Public Drunkenness, and Underage Drinking.
