PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – He didn't get a lot of attention at Pitt with Jimmy Morrissey in the middle, but guard Bryce Hargrove was Honorable Mention All-ACC after starting 11 games in 2020.

The 6'4", 310 pounder took time to develop after redshirting his first year and just playing one game in his second.  Hargrove cracked the starting lineup in his third year and became an everyday starter at left guard his last two seasons.  He also has the size to move outside and potentially inside for a team looking for a swing offensive lineman.

"That's important," Hargrove said.  "That's how you make a team.  That's how you make an active roster.  That's how you get on the field being flexible and being able to do multiple positions, which I've done since day one at Pitt.  I didn't even play offensive line and then I got here."

"I can play both of the guards.  I can play right tackle.  I have that film here at Pitt.  Towards the end of the year and throughout my training, I've been working on center.  I can play four of the five positions."

Hargrove said he dedicated his time when not playing to watching football.  He said he just would watch the offensive linemen.  He wouldn't even follow the ball or what the quarterback did, just wanted to see every move the linemen made.

Hargrove said he's worked on his quickness to make sure he is able to keep speed with the increased weight offensive linemen carry, especially in the NFL.  He also believes he was helped by having to go up against the quality of defensive linemen at Pitt.

"I feel like I'm slept on this year," Hargrove said.  "Once a team gives me a chance I'll show my differences.  I'm quick, strong, fast.  The mental aspect, I prepare and I'm ready when it's time to play.  That's the big gap between me and other people, the mental aspect."

He's not likely a player who could play right away, but for a team with older guards or looking for a potential center.  That has time to develop.  They could reap the rewards the Panthers did.
