PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Finishing the season 8-4 including 6-2 under true freshman quarterback Mason Heintschel, the Pitt Panthers will play East Carolina in the Military Bowl in Annapolis, Maryland on December 27th at 11a.

After blowing leads in its first two losses, the Panthers turned to Heintschel and won five straight, ending up with a pair of Top 25 road victories (Florida State, Georgia Tech). It’s head coach Pat Narduzzi’s eighth bowl game overall.

“It was my first bowl game, we are excited to be back 10 years later,” said Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi. “I really don’t care Group of Five or Power Four, it really doesn’t matter. They are football players and they all got hearts. It comes down to who plays with more toughness and who wants it the most. That’s why we compete, that’s the type of football team we have. That’s what we are going to bring to Washington DC.”

“Bowl games are a celebration. It’s an opportunity to play one more game with your football team.”

Narduzzi said he expects all to play. He’s currently not aware of anyone leaving early for the draft, transferring or holding out. That could change between now at the game.
