PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The Pitt Panthers seventh and eighth drafted defensive backs over the last half-dozen years went on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. Erick Hallett to Jacksonville in the sixth round and Brandon Hill to the Houston Texans in the seventh round.

His stock helped with a solid Pitt Pro Day. The 5'11", 190 pounder played in 49 games during his career earning the Pro Football Writers Second Team All-American designation in 2022. He accounted for three interceptions and three forced fumbles and named Second Team All-ACC. For his career 170 tackles (115 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss, 32 passes defended, eight interceptions and four forced fumbles.

Hill was Pitt's second-leading tackler starting 12 games at strong safety in 2022. The Florida native had a 30-year fumble return for a touchdown against Duke and named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week. Twice named All-ACC, Hill finished with 172 career tackles, three tackles for loss, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and 12 passes defended. The 5'11", 195-pounder ran the fastest 40-yard dash time for a safety (4.43) at the NFL Combine.
