PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The day after the Pitt college football season begins a huge event at PPG Paints Arena involving the Panthers and Penn State. Tickets for the second annual State Farm Women’s College Volleyball Showcase go on sale Wednesday morning.
The field not only includes a Panthers program in the Final Four the last four seasons and the national champion Nittany Lions, but NCAA Tournament teams TCU and Arizona State. Last year these four teams combined to win 120 matches.
The schedule for the two-day tournament was released on Tuesday.
· Sunday, August 31 at 2p, Pitt vs TCU
· Sunday, August 31 at 5p, Penn State vs.
Arizona State
· Monday, September 1 at 5p, Penn State vs. TCU
· Monday, September 1 at 7:30pm, Pitt vs. Arizona State
Tickets start at $20 and are good for the day, meaning one ticket gets you both games on either Sunday or Monday. Last year the event was held in Milwaukee with powerhouses Wisconsin, Texas, Stanford and Minnesota participating.
