PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) — Moving into the sixth round, the Pittsburgh Penguins have made another late-round selection.
This time the Penguins chose center Chase Yoder.
Yoder is coming out of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. And is entering the league at 5 foot 10 inches and weighing in at 174 pounds.
Wisconsin Badgers head coach Tony Granato had this to say about Yoder and his versatility: "He's a solid two-way player. He knows what to do to help his team win games. I think of Brandon Tanev when I think about players that are similar to the way he plays... He's going to be a real good pick."
Yoder's selection leaves just one more pick for the Penguins in the 2020 Draft, barring any trades.
The Penguins will make their final selection of the night at 211, which was a pick they received in a trade-down with the Avalanche earlier in the draft.
