PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The NHL season is drawing closer and closer, and it will be the first full season with predicted full attendance since 2019-20.
With those projections, the Pittsburgh Penguins have brought back fan promotions for the 2021-22 season.
The team announced its 2021-22 promotional schedule and it includes giveaways and the return of theme nights.
Theme nights include 90s Night on Oct. 28 against the Calgary Flames, 80s Night on Dec. 21 against the New Jersey Devils, 70s Night on Jan. 20 against the Ottawa Senators, Star Wars Night on Dec. 14 against the Montreal Canadiens, and Pittsburgh Night April 12 agaisnt the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Other specialty games include the Pride Game on Nov. 16 against the Buffalo Sabres, Ugly Sweater Night on Dec. 23 against the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Black Hockey History game on Jan. 30 against the Los Angeles Kings.
Along with theme nights come the return of giveaways and fan appreciation night to close the regular season.
Giveaways include a team calendar on Oct. 26 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the annual Penguins yearbook on Jan. 5 against the St. Louis Blues, and a Penguins hat on March 22 against the Blue Jackets.
