It’s what you’ve been asking for Penguins fans. An updated version of the Penguins classic diagonal Pittsburgh jersey is returning this season.

Originally an away jersey, beginning in 1993, the all-black sweater with yellow diagonal “PITTSBURGH” text will return to the ice at PPG Paints Arena on December 11 when the Penguins host the Anaheim Ducks.
The shoulders of the jersey will feature the current Penguins logo, without the traditional triangle.
In a release the Penguins say the jersey will be the team’s third option for the next three seasons after fans got a taste with the “Reverse Retro” in 2020.
The jersey is well known for being worn on the ice by greats Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr and off course Snoop Dogg in his “Gin and Juice” music video.
The new third jersey will be available beginning December 11-15 exclusively at PensGear locations and on their website and will be available at DICK’s and other locations beginning December 16.
The Penguins will wear the jersey at home on the following dates:
December 11 vs. Anaheim
December 17 vs. Buffalo
January 2 vs. San Jose
January 23 vs. Winnipeg
January 28 vs. Detroit
February 26 vs. NY Rangers
March 11 vs. Vegas
