93.7 The Fan (PITTSBURGH) - Despite outshooting Seattle, the Penguins fall to the Kraken 2-0.

The Penguins outshot Seattle 33-28 in the game and had stellar play from Tristan Jarry in net. Jarry made 26 saves against 28 shots.

Oliver Bjorkstrand opened the scoring for Seattle after a weird bounce went off Alex Wennberg in front of the net from a slapshot at the blue line, Bjorkstrand got the rebound and scored on a five hole goal.

"It's tough when the puck goes up in the air like that," said Jarry. "Your trajectory of your body is looking down and usually the way the puck is traveling, it's tough to track the puck from the ceiling down. Just lost track of it for a split second and they were able to get it before we did."

The Kraken would extend the lead in the third period on the power play. Kailer Yamamoto got a great feed from Winnberg but was denied by Jarry. Jarry fell to the ground making the save on Yamamoto's shot and Winnberg was able to get the rebound and score.

Philip Grubauer recorded his first shutout of the season after making 33 saves keeping the Penguins off the board. Pittsburgh's power play had three opportunities in the game but were unable to score on Grubauer.

"Got some good zone time, thought we were pretty good at putting pucks there, I thought in the third we probably didn't get there as much as we would have liked to," said Sidney Crosby. "Definitely the first two periods, there were pucks around there that gave ourselves opportunities."

Pittsburgh travels to Calgary for a 10 p.m. puck drop against the Flames Saturday March 3rd.
