PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) It was announced on Saturday that the Pittsburgh Penguins have hired former Olympian Krissy Wendell-Pohl.
Reporting to Nick Pryor, Wendell-Pohl was hired as an amateur scout and is primarily focused on scouting players in the Minnesota area.
Wendell-Pohl, a Minnesota native, played college hockey at the University of Minnesota, winning back-to-back NCAA Championships in 2004 and 2005.
Twice a part of the United States Women's Olympics Hockey Team, Wendell-Pohl was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2019.
The United States Women's team won a silver and bronze medal respectively with Wendell-Pohl.
Her husband, Johnny Pohl, is a veteran of 115 NHL games.
