The Penguins have recalled goalie Sergei Murashov from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
The team made the announcement Tuesday morning.
The fourth-round pick in 2022, is likely up after Stuart Skinner took a puck to the eye while on the bench, backing up Arthur Silovs.
Wheeling goaltender Taylor Gauthier was called up in an emergency move on Sunday backing up Silovs.
With Murashov recalled, Gauthier has returned to Wheeling.
The 22-year-old Murashov has impressed in the minors, becoming the Baby Penguins starting goalie.
Over 35 games, he has a .922 save percentage, three shutouts and a record of 23-8-3.
Murashov appeared in five games in November/December going 1-2-2 (one of those loses in a shootout.)
The Penguins next play Thursday night in New Jersey against the Devils.
